Chirurgie dentară

Surgery is recommended after diagnosis and discussion of alternatives. Planning and care after the procedure are just as important as the intervention itself.

Procedures matched to the dental problem

Oral surgery may be needed when a tooth cannot be preserved or when a root or bone problem requires a surgical approach. Before extraction, your dentist assesses the options for conservative treatment.

DENTAURUM's surgical services include extractions, root-end surgery and bone preparation for implants, including sinus lifts. The indications and limitations of each procedure are established after consultation and the necessary investigations.

Tooth extractions

Removal of teeth when clinically indicated, including cases requiring a surgical approach.

Root-end surgery may be considered in selected cases involving persistent problems at the root tip.

Preparing for implants

Bone grafting or a sinus lift may be needed if the available bone cannot support the planned implant treatment.

What matters after surgery

Follow the instructions for cleaning, food and medication. After an extraction, protecting the clot in the treated area is important. Contact your dentist if bleeding does not stop or pain and swelling worsen. Do not change prescribed treatment without discussing it with your dentist.

Frequently asked questions

Does every wisdom tooth need to be removed?

No. The decision depends on its position, symptoms and risks to neighbouring teeth. A tooth that is not causing problems may simply be monitored.

Should I stop taking medication beforehand?

Tell your dentist about all medication, including anticoagulants. Do not stop it yourself; the plan must be coordinated with your clinicians.

How long does healing take?

It depends on the procedure and your general health. A review allows healing to be assessed and advice adjusted if necessary.
